MENTORSHIP

The mentorship program is aimed at empowering junior professionals within the construction sector with necessary skills and knowledge to qualify for professional registration as professional engineers with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). Each engineering discipline within the civils faculty, enjoys a unique implementation plan which is tailored against the council’s registration requirements

At Seashore, we have putted together a mentorship program that is not only ECSA aligned but also anchored upon the desired career path of the concerned candidate. We made it our priority to recruit amongst our team of mentor, industry esteemed individuals who are as per the council’s standards registered professionals as both Pr. Eng. (Professional Engineer), Pr. Tech. Eng. (Professional Technologists) and Pr. Techni. Eng. (Professional Technician). In our incubation program we plan to accommodate a total of 20 mentees at a go in order to ensure quality and personalized attention for each mentee.

To date we have mentored a total of 6 candidates, with five (5) of them being professionally registered in 2024 via a CETA funded model. Though funding from CETA is not always guaranteed for mentees, self-funded ones are more welcome to enroll for the program. A fee structure will be shared with individuals who would have submitted their enquiry via our email on info@seashoreacademy.co.za.

Intake of candidates is open throughout the year since each candidate receives a personalized implementation plan. Below is the table illustrating the qualifications and work experience requirements for professional registration as per the ECSA R02 documents:
